Falmouth Sailing Week:
10th to 16th August, 2025

Falmouth Sailing Week 2025 will begin with the Skippers' Briefing and Reception at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club on Saturday 9th August. Not just for skippers, all participants and FSW volunteers are invited.

Following an introductory welcome and the briefings by the Race Officers of the Carrick Roads and Bay Fleets, there will be hospitality and music.

This should provide a good start to what will become an excellent week!

In 2020, despite the disruption of the Covid pandemic, the many uncertainties that were generated, and the abbreviation of the event to only four days, Falmouth Sailing Week won the title of Event of the Year at the British Yachting Awards.

We have since reverted to our standard seven day format and have again included dinghy classes (racing in the Carrick Roads). The main regatta is a series of races, with courses laid in Falmouth Bay and the Carrick Roads by qualified Race Officers. All classes of boat – expert or beginner – are catered for.

Maintaining our reputation as one of the foremost innovative regattas we will again be deploying the Mark Set Bots (autonomous marks) in 2025, which proved so successful in 2024.

Each club hosts one day, providing teas for competitors, prize giving for that day's racing, and entertainment into the early evening.

  • Sunday – Helford River SC & Royal Cornwall YC (Carrick Fleet)
  • Monday – Mylor YC,
  • Tuesday – Restronguet SC,
  • Wednesday – no prizegiving, Red Arrows
  • Thursday – Royal Cornwall YC
  • Friday – St Mawes SC, and finally
  • Saturday – Flushing SC!

On Sunday, there is a Regatta Tea and Prize-Giving for the Carrick Fleet at RCYC.

Bay Fleet competitors will race on Wednesday in the Ancasta Champagne Race. The Champagne Race is a longer race in Falmouth and Gerrans Bays. The Carrick Fleet competitors will race in the standalone Mainbrace Rum Race, first introduced in 2021.

The Red Arrows, the RAF's famous aerobatic team will be flying and performing over the Bay area at about 1815 on Wednesday.

PoFSA works closely with the Falmouth Shoreside Committee. Throughout the week this committee organises an extensive programme of events to suit all tastes and ages in Falmouth Town. Shoreside Programme.

Come and join us in the racing, or watch the action take place in one of the most beautiful sailing grounds in the world.

The dates of Falmouth Sailing Week for 2026 are Sunday 9th to Saturday 15th August.
