Falmouth Sailing Week
Dates for 2019: 10th to 17th August
Check here to find out everything that you need to know if you want to race or view the results during the week. All the necessary documents allowing you to enter your boat will be made available here.
The briefing takes place on the 10th and racing is scheduled to begin on Sunday 11th August and continue until Saturday 17th August.
The main regatta is a series of races, with courses laid in Falmouth Bay and the Carrick Roads by qualified Race Officers. All classes of boat – expert or beginner – are catered for.
Each club hosts one of the days, Sunday – Helford River SC, Monday – Mylor YC, Tuesday – Restronguet SC, Thursday – Royal Cornwall YC, St Mawes SC on Friday and finally Flushing SC on Saturday! The host club provides teas for competitors and entertainment into the early evening.
Bay Fleet competitors will race on Wednesday in the Champagne Race. The Champagne Race is a longer race in Falmouth and Gerrans Bays.
Prizes will be awarded after each day's racing.
PoFSA works closely with the Falmouth Shoreside Committee. Throughout the week this committee organises an extensive programme of events to suit all tastes and ages in Falmouth Town.
Come and join us in the racing, or watch the action take place in one of the most beautiful sailing grounds in the world.
In previous years, the Red Arrows, the RAF Aerobatic Team, have performed at 1815 on either the Wednesday or the Tuesday. The Red Arrows will not be coming in 2019. They have a busy schedule planned for the summer which includes displays in the US.
However, they will be replaced by not one, not two but THREE aerobatic display teams who will be flying into Falmouth for a brand new air show! The Falmouth Week Air Show will be an hour of breathtaking stunts and exhilarating manoeuvres featuring The Blades, AeroSuperBatics WingWalkers and Strikemaster Pair.
The dates of Falmouth Sailing Week for 2020 are 8th to 15th August.
